Grade K
Students will be continuing to practice keyboarding skills by identifying letters and typing uppercase and lowercase letters on the keyboard. Students will use the shift keys as needed. Please use this virtual keyboard as a resource. Hold the shift key down. Make a point to demonstrate that when using the shift key the letters "shift" position from uppercase to lowercase. Students will use the jump key game to type each letter, climbing to reach the next level. Model a portion of level 1, level 2, and level 3 which consists of a combination of upper and lowercase letters.

Grade 1 Students will continue to practice keyboarding skills using typing lessons on Typingclub.com. Play the video on level 1. Take the keyboard and place it on your lap to demonstrate as you follow the guidance of the video for placement of fingers on the home row keys. Students are expected to have proper posture, fingers on the home row keys, and eyes on their monitor as they type. Model typing lessons 2-4 because at the end of lesson 4 students will begin to use the redo button or arrows on the screen in order to access the next lesson. Please demonstrate this. Students will practice for 25 minutes at their computers independently. Feel free to use and set a timer using the online stopwatch site.
Afterwards, students can choose from any of the keyboarding games from weeks 1 and 2 instead of teaching the word processing lesson called alphabet pairs. The games are linked to the buttons show here (they are not active on this webpage only one the 1st grade webpage). |

Please use the login information provided below to access the "Foods" lesson. See the video for further information. I will speak to students about expectations for the lesson. Please play the video below once students are seated. Afterwards, proceed with the lesson while all students are on the carpet. Afterwards, they may sign into Google Classroom with their login cards. Students will follow directions as shown in the video.
