2nd Six Weeks Lessons
Week 1Who loves to draw? I know that I do, I do! Today I will be introducing Tux Paint graphics software. You can use it to creatively illustrate digitally. We will learn about tools, the color palette, and stamps available to assist in your drawing.
Today you will: create an original drawing using the graphics software. You will save your work. |
Week 1Today I will introduce the First in Math website and games. You will receive your login information and practice logging in. We will discuss how to play the games. I will model how you will play.
We will watch game tutorial videos in order to see how we will get started. You will play and begin to earn stickers. Have fun! Week 1- Part 2: Students will logon to play K-2 First in Math games and assess their personal and team scores. |
Week 2Students will engage in demonstrating the right click, left click, dble click, drag, icon, printer, saving, file, and folder icons and skills. I will model locating a program and file. I will demonstrate opening Internet Explorer and closing Internet Explorer to return to the desktop. Independent Practice: Students will open Internet Explorer and select an interactive dot to dot game independently.

Week 3Today I will use Billy Bear Kids online paint program to introduce stamps, tools (pencil, eraser, new page, undo, redo), and the color palette. I will model creating an illustration. Week 3 (part 2)Today we will continue reviewing previously learning vocabulary with our Kinder Vocab Review flipchart. Complete the following 5 slides. I will demonstrate opening and locating a program or file. I will also demonstrate appropriately shutting down the computer. I will discuss when it is appropriate for students to shut down the computer independently. Student Activity: Review drag and drop with letter matching game, then free choice.

Week 4Today I will model how to properly print, save, and shut down on a computer. Today's vocabulary: monitor, CPU, desktop, print, save, and shut down.

Week 4 (part 2)Today I will model for you how to correctly shut down and turn on your computer. I will also show you how we log in each day. We will discuss when it is appropriate to shut down the computer and whose responsibility it may be in your room or home. Today we will also use " Mix and Paint" to utilize graphics tools used for illustrating a picture.
Rotation 2: I will demonstrate printing from various programs and software. We will discuss when it is okay to print on your computer. Today we will use abcya paint as an online resource to paint using a toolbox, color palette, various stamps, and more. |
