Week 1Today students will learn how the Internet works and how to search using a search tool. We will navigate an Internet browser and use it to find information. I will begin to use the Internet to search for information about seasons.

Week 4Today we will review how search engines work. We will search Pebble Go to find information about mammals. Students will search for "Giant Panda" and read/play text to find information. We will use Air Pano and The San Diego Zoo to observe live cameras.

Week 5Today we will discuss ways that you can stay safe online. We will relate these things to your safety in the real world. Afterwards, you will practice keyboarding skills with Typing Agent.
Internet Safety Video Access prior knowledge. Have students share things you should NOT do in the real world or in the online world. Make two columns. REPLAY the internet safety video on Day 1. Invite students to sing along if they remember the worlds.

Week 7Today we will watch "I Need My Monster". You will continue to use multimedia tools for creativity. Use the websites below to create your own monsters. After the activities below if you have time you may draw a monster using Tux Paint.

Week 8View the animated short "Coin Operated" to see how frames are combined to make animations in the movies and shows we love. Today you will use a minimum of 7 frames create and save your own animation.

Week 9Today we will continue to use multimedia tools to create and save our work on the computer. You will watch and listen to the story Harry the Dirty Dog. I will demonstrate drawing a dog using various Tux Paint tools.
You will use the graphic software to create a dog of your own. Save your work and then share the final product with your neighbor. |
