The entire course leverages block-based coding, which simplifies the process of computer programming. Rather than writing out the code, students will drag and drop coding blocks that represent code. This means that students won’t have to worry about their reading and writing skills in order to play. Learn these computer programming skills today: SEQUENCING & LOOPS CONDITIONAL LOOPS IF/ELSE CONDITIONS |
Move...Kids can code! Watch this video of 12 year old developer, Thomas Suarez. He is an app developer with apps available in the App Store for iOS devices. He was interested in computers and pushed himself to learn more.

Week 3Play What is AI for Kids?
AI is when you make a computer like a little brain. You help it to learn by giving it a lot of words and pictures and numbers. If the computer hears you answer a lot of questions, later on it can quickly answer your questions. But it only knows what you show it and tell it, so it's not as smart as you are. Today students will program their computer to create songs via their movements. Students will program illustrations to dance. |
Bonus AiAI is the ability for a computer to think and learn. It is capable of learning in order to problem-solve in the world around us daily. Watch THIS video to learn more about how AI helps in daily life. After the activities below they can revisit any AI activities from this six weeks or websites we've previously visited in any other six weeks.
Week 5In the story, I Wanna New Room, Alex wants his own space away from his brother. He writes a series of letters to his parents asking for a new room. Since they cannot add to their house, his dad suggests they build a treehouse. If you were Alex, how would you design the tree house? You will create your design in two ways. First, you will create the exterior design. What will your tree house look like from the outside? Next, like Alex, you will make a floor plan of the interior. What will it look like on the inside?
